Mallory Lupick’s first solo collection + show:

BLOOMS, Mallory Lupick’s first independent show, is a culmination of modalities long explored coming together in fruition. In this collection, Mallory’s textured line work and her exploration of natural fabric dyeing meet the inspiration of her home neighbourhood of Gastown. Each piece was born not from a plan, but instead would take shape from independently created materials, beginning with the nuanced process of dying fabrics with foraged materials, pieces of fabric coming together and being taken apart, until each piece’s final state is realized. The abstract fabric canvases become fertile ground for beautiful happenstance details, and make perfect homes for the imperfect blooms, resulting in pieces that not only share a composition, but can also be explored on a detailed level - an I spy field for unique, unrepeatable moments.
